Southern Pillar - East Side is a climbing area in the Potomac Ranger District of Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia, managed by the Forest Service. It sits on the east side of the Southern Pillar, with the West Side and Southeast Corner climbing areas just 0.1 mile away. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Franklin put May highs around 74°F and September highs around 77°F, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. The Pipeline Trail and Seneca Rocks Trail both start about 0.3 mile away. Seneca Shadows campground is about 1.3 miles off, and Seneca Creek offers canoeing about 4 miles away.
