Roundhouse Area is a bouldering area in Coopers Rock State Forest in West Virginia, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. It sits among a cluster of climbing areas, with Tomb Raider Area, Entrance Boulders and The Forgotten Block Area all about 0.1 mile away. The Underlook Trail starts just as close, and the Rock City Trail is about 0.2 mile off. The area is a bouldering destination, with five routes listed, all rated between V4 and V5 on the V scale. The most notable is Roundhouse itself, a V5 boulder problem. Stupid Human Tricks, also known as Whale's Belly, is a V4 boulder with a first ascent by Dan Steever in 1995. Unnamed (left of Roundhouse) is a V5- boulder. For timing, September is the most comfortable month, with typical highs around 77°F and lows near 56°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station in Morgantown. That station sits about 750 feet lower than the area, so temperatures here run cooler.
