The Other Place is a climbing area in West Virginia, about 1.8 miles from the town of Mount Lookout. It is closed, so it is not a place to plan a visit to right now. The area is close to other climbing spots, including Cambodia, about 0.2 miles away, and Upper Meadow, about 0.3 miles away. The climbing here is sport climbing, with 42 sport routes and one each of mixed and trad. The grades run from 5.8 up to 5.13b, with the median around 5.11b. Some of the named routes are Beetle Byway at 5.8, Treeiage at 5.10b, and SR71 at 5.13b. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 72°F and September highs around 75°F, with September also seeing the fewest wet days of the year.
