1 Tan Wall is a climbing area in Gauley River National Recreation Area in West Virginia, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of bouldering spots, with several other climbing areas within about a tenth of a mile. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Summersville Lake weather station run from highs around 72°F in May to about 75°F in September, with July the warmest month at about 81°F. The closest neighbors are the Mechanical Sensei Boulder and I Love Luci! Boulder boulders, each about 0.1 mile away, and the Meadow River Gorge Trail, about 0.2 mile off. For an overnight stay, Battle Run campground is roughly 4.9 miles away.
