Bear Heaven Campground is a small primitive campground in the Cheat Ranger District of Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia, about 14 miles northeast of Elkins. It sits on Forest Road 91 (Stuart Drive) near the Otter Creek Wilderness, with 8 sites set along rock outcroppings that make for a unique landscape. The campground is not reservable, so plan on arriving and finding a site on the spot. Middle Point Trail #140, 3.7 miles long, runs along Stuart Drive west of the campground, and the Otter Creek Wilderness offers more trails and challenging routes just beyond. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 74°F with lows near 56°F, while September cools to highs around 68°F and has the fewest wet days of the year. Bear Haven, a climbing area, is just 0.1 mile away. Hedrick Camp Trail and Shavers Mountain Trail are both within about a mile, and Stuart Recreation Area is about 5 miles off.
