About Coulee Corridor Scenic Byway

Coulee Corridor Scenic Byway is a 151.7-mile drive across Washington, designated both a National Scenic Byway and a Washington State Scenic Byway. It begins in Omak in the north and runs south to Othello. Along the way it passes through Nespelem, Coulee Dam, Grand Coulee, Electric City, Coulee City, Soap Lake and Moses Lake, so there are plenty of town stops on the full length. Late spring through early fall is the most comfortable stretch for the drive. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Omak show highs around 72°F in May and 78°F in September, with July and August climbing to about 89°F. Winter highs there hover near 33°F. The byway makes an easy base for short outings. The Roadside Rock East and West climbing areas sit about a tenth of a mile from the route. Park Lake Trail is about 0.2 miles away, and Banks Lake, for fishing, lies under a mile off.
