Waka Beach is a climbing area in Washington, about 3 miles from the town of Elwha. It sits right beside the Elwha River and The Elwhall, two other climbing areas that make it easy to pair with a day on the river or a longer outing in the Elwha valley. The climbing here is all sport, with 24 routes spread across a range from 5.3 to 5.11d. The easiest are Scareless at 5.3 and Donut Run at 5.7, both first ascended by Steve Teufert and Dennis Doyle. At the top end, Sum'bitch-Knockout is a 5.11d that Scott Underwood climbed in July 2018. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Port Angeles show July and August highs around 68 to 70°F with only five to six wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-40s and rain on 17 days a month. The Outer Loop hike starts less than a mile away, and the Elwha River Restoration Public Trail is about 1.5 miles off. For paddling, Salt Creek is roughly 6 miles away.
