About Strait of Juan de Fuca Highway - SR 112

The Strait of Juan de Fuca Highway, also known as SR 112, is a 60.5-mile scenic drive in Washington that carries two designations: it is a National Scenic Byway and a Washington State Scenic Byway. The route links the towns of Clallam Bay and Sekiu, which makes it a natural way to break up the drive into shorter stretches. Summer is the most comfortable time to make the trip. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Port Angeles show July highs around 68°F and August highs near 70°F, with only five or six wet days a month. Winter is cooler and wetter, with highs in the mid-40s and rain on about 17 days a month from November through January. The drive passes close to plenty of stops. Waka Beach and the Elwha River climbing areas sit within a third of a mile, and the Rangea Trail and Outer Loop hikes are both about 0.4 miles away. Paddlers can head to Salt Creek or the Clallam River, each within about a mile.
