Sanctuary Boulders is a bouldering area in Washington, about 1.3 miles from the town of Reiter. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Cracked Egg Boulder and East Forest both about 0.1 mile away. The area has seven bouldering routes, all rated on the V scale from V0- to V9. The easiest are Slickfoot Sanctuary at V0- and Sanctuary Crack at V0, while Appeasing the Gods is the hardest at V9. Contra and Sore Thumb fall in the V3 to V4 range. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 72°F with lows near 54°F and only about nine or ten wet days a month. Winter is much wetter, with highs in the low 40s and snow on several days a month from December through March. The Lake Isabel Trail and the LAKE ISABEL hike are both within a mile. Wallace Falls State Park Campground is about 3.7 miles away, and the Wallace River offers canoeing about 2.7 miles off.
