The Bookstore is a climbing area in northeastern Washington, on Bureau of Land Management land within the Spokane Border Field Office. It sits among a cluster of named climbing areas, including The Bookstore - Main Area, The Bookstore - Grey Slabs and Garden Wall and Kettle Valley (Curlew), all within about a tenth of a mile. The climbing here runs from trad routes on the easier side to sport routes that reach the 5.10d grade. The area has seven routes in total, with four trad and three sport. The easiest is A Walk in the Park at 5.8, and the hardest is Spike Heeled Lady at 5.10d. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Republic show July and August highs around 84°F with only four or five wet days a month, while winter brings highs near 30°F and regular snow days. Nearby, Tonata Creek Wall - Lower Wall and Shangri La are both about 0.6 miles away. For time off the rock, the Ferry County Rail Trail is roughly 7.6 miles off, and Curlew Creek offers canoeing about 8 miles away.
