Bend North is a climbing area in Washington, about 3.7 miles from the town of Tieton. It sits close to several other climbing areas, including Bend Center and Bend West, which are each about 0.1 mile away, making it easy to string together a day of climbing in this part of the state. The area has 23 routes, and most of them are trad. Sport climbing is also available, with four sport routes. The YDS grade range runs from 5.6 up to 5.10d. North Chimney and People, Places and Things are among the more notable trad routes. Mutiny in Manila and Winds of Change are both in the 5.10 range, with the latter being the hardest at 5.10d. For timing, late spring and early fall tend to be the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 74°F and September highs near 79°F, though that station sits roughly 900 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up here run cooler. Nearby options include the Tieton Nature Trail, about a mile away, and the Naches River, about 2.8 miles off. Windy Point Campground is about 4.1 miles away, and Bear Canyon Trail is roughly 4.7 miles from the area.
