Purgatory is a short, moderate mountain biking route in Washington, about 0.8 miles from the town of Henrys. The climb is an out-and-back of roughly half a mile, with a high point of 658 feet and a total elevation gain of 123 feet. The route is rated moderate, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.15 miles in, with a grade of 6 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from the nearby Landsburg weather station show July and August highs around 77°F with only about seven wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-40s and rain on 20 or more days. The Revival and Salvation trails sit about 0.1 miles away, and Redemption is just as close. For paddling, Big Soos Creek is about 6.6 miles off.
