The Methow River is a fishing destination in Washington's Okanogan National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. It sits in the Methow country, where the surrounding national forest and the nearby town of Winthrop make it an easy base for planning a trip. The most comfortable stretch for a visit runs from late spring through early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Winthrop put May highs around 71°F and September highs around 77°F, with July and August peaking near 86°F. Winter is cold, with January highs around 30°F and lows near 15°F. Lookout Mountain Trail is about 4 miles away, and Beaver Creek and Frazer Creek, both paddling routes, are each a little under 5 miles off.
