Long Beach
About
Long Beach is a public ocean beach on the Washington coast, right beside the town of Long Beach, about a tenth of a mile away. It is a simple place to visit, with parking on site and no fee to use it. Plan to stay out of the water, because swimming is not allowed here. The beach works best for walking the shoreline and spending time by the ocean rather than getting in. Summer is the most comfortable time to come. Typical averages from a nearby weather station put July highs around 65°F and August highs near 67°F, with fewer wet days than the rest of the year. Winter months bring highs in the upper 40s and rain on most days. Several outings sit within a short drive. Parker Slough Trail is about 3 miles away. The Bear River canoe route is about 6 miles off, and the Don Bonker Cedar Grove Trail is about 7 miles away. Across the state line in Oregon, Chinook RV Park is about 8 miles from the beach and offers a place to camp.
