Morel Ravine Trail is a mountain biking loop in Pocahontas State Park in Virginia, managed by the State Department of Conservation. The trail is short, about 1.4 miles long, and the climb is gentle, with a total elevation gain of about 100 feet from a low point of 149 feet to a high of 207 feet. It is rated hard, so plan on a ride that demands a steady pace rather than a casual cruise. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Petersburg show October highs around 72°F with lows near 48°F, and April highs around 70°F. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the route run a little cooler. The trail sits close to several other mountain biking routes. Box Turtle Trail, Tall Oaks Trail and Morgan Trail System Access are each about 0.1 mile away, and Beaver Lake Trail, a hike, is about half a mile off.
