Goldy Area is a bouldering destination in the Salt Lake Ranger District of Utah's Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. It sits close to several other climbing and riding spots, which makes it easy to pair with a day on the trails or at the crags. The climbing here is all bouldering, with 14 routes spread across the area. Grades run from V0 to V4 on the V scale, and the most common are around V2, so climbers of all levels can find something to work on. A few routes also carry a YDS grade of 5.6. Among them are Another Face at V0 and Gritty Face at V4. For the best weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Cottonwood Weir weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 79°F, while July averages reach 91°F. The Beer Can Cave Area and All Thumbs Boulder are both about a tenth of a mile away, and the Temple Quarry Interpretive mountain biking trail is just as close. For a place to stay, Tanners Flat Campground is roughly 3.8 miles off.
