The Convent is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land in the Moab Field Office in Utah, about 1.9 miles from the Castle Valley weather station. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Parriot Mesa and The Nuns each about 0.8 miles away and the Sister Superior Group about 2 miles off. The climbing here is all trad, with nine routes ranging from 5.10b to 5.12. Renate Goes to Eleven is the easiest at 5.10b, and Choir Boyz is the hardest at 5.12-. The Value of Audacity and The Middle Way are both in the 5.11- to 5.12 range. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Castle Valley station show May highs around 78°F and October highs around 71°F, while July highs average about 96°F. For a change from the rock, Castleton Tower Trail is about 3 miles away, and Big Bend Group Sites and Oak Grove Campground are both about 4.2 miles away.
