Astroid Boulder is a bouldering area in Utah's State Trust Lands South Block, managed by the State Land Board. It sits among a cluster of other bouldering spots, with Tri Boulder, Flat Face Boulder and Buttopia all within about a tenth of a mile. The Central Parking Area is also close by, making this a compact, clustered place to find several boulders in one visit. The climbing here is all boulder-style, with seven routes ranging from V1 to V6. The V6 route, Solution Manual, is the most challenging, and the rest sit between V1 and V3. Eli Mantle and Achilles Heel are two of the others in that range. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby St George weather station show April highs around 75°F and October highs near 79°F, while July highs average about 102°F. For more time on the rock, Tri Boulder and Flat Face Boulder are right next door, and the Banded Hills Trail starts about 0.1 mile away. The Banded Hills Trail is the closest hike, and the Pushing Tin hike is about 2.6 miles off.
