Lab Rat is a climbing area on State Trust Lands South Block in southern Utah, managed by the State Land Board. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots and a short hike, so it works well as a stop in a day of bouldering and walking. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in St. George show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 79°F, while July averages about 102°F. The closest neighbors are the Wash, Martyr Boulder, Finicky Boulder and Main Attraction Boulder, all about 0.1 mile away. The Banded Hills Trail is also about 0.1 mile off.
