Bear Canyon Trail is a mountain biking route in Utah's Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, within the Pleasant Grove Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail rises from about 6,500 feet to roughly 8,250 feet over a distance of about 2 miles, with a total elevation gain of 1,705 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Alta, at a similar elevation, show July highs around 73°F with lows near 50°F, while winter highs stay around 30°F. The Bear Canyon Spur Trail starts just 0.3 miles away. Timpooneke Campground and Altamont campground are both within a mile, and Echo Reservoir is about 1.2 miles off.
