Phelps Brook ATV Trail is a mountain biking route in the Heber-Kamas Ranger District of Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. It is a rated hard ride, covering about 3.5 miles round trip with a total elevation gain of roughly 920 feet. The trail is an out-and-back, starting at a low point around 8,677 feet and climbing to about 9,616 feet at the high point. July and August are the warmest months, with typical highs near 77°F and lows around 48 to 49°F at Moon Lake, a weather station about 25 miles away at a lower elevation. Temperatures on the trail run cooler than that. Several other spots lie within a short drive. Buckboard Creek is a hike about 2.7 miles away, and Wolf Creek Campground is about 4.4 miles off. Trail Hollow Trail is about 4.4 miles away, and the Iron Mine campground is about 4.8 miles away.
