Slide Canyon is a short, easy hike in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, within the Pleasant Grove Ranger District of Utah. The trail is about 1.3 miles long, with an elevation gain of 592 feet, and it makes an out-and-back trip from a low point of about 7,935 feet to a high of about 8,540 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced. Bikes are allowed, so it works for hikers and riders alike. The trail is open from July 1 through October 31. That makes late summer and early fall the most comfortable time to go, when the weather is typically milder than in the rest of the year. Slide Canyon Trail and Y Mountain Trail both lie about half a mile away. Climbers can find The Cooler and The Hidden within about 1.5 miles.
