Patterson - Birch Lake is a 4.6-mile out-and-back hike in the Beaver Ranger District of Fishlake National Forest in Utah, about 8 miles from the town of Beaver. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and rated moderate, with a one-way climb of about 1,000 feet from a low point of 7,687 feet to a high of 8,667 feet. The route is natural-surface and open to both horses and bikes, so riders and pack animals can join the trip. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 80°F with lows near 52°F, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days. Several other outings sit close by. Birch Creek - Clover Beds is just 0.1 mile away, and Patterson Hollow is about 0.6 mile off. Kane Canyon is roughly 1.4 miles away, and Kents Lake Campground is about 3 miles out for an overnight stay.
