North Slope Road is a short, easy out-and-back hike on Bureau of Land Management land within the Richfield Field Office in southern Utah. The trail spans about 1.2 miles, with a low point of 7,134 feet and a high of 7,235 feet. The climb totals about 197 feet round trip, and the steepest stretch comes at roughly 0.3 miles in, with a 6% grade. The route works well as a quick stop. It takes about half an hour to complete, and the most comfortable weather typically arrives in late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Torrey run from highs around 70°F in May to about 76°F in September. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet below the trail, so temperatures on the route run a little cooler. The Great Western Trail - Fish Creek Section lies just 0.2 miles away, and the A Journey Through Time Scenic Byway is within a mile. A little farther out are the Waterfall/Petroglyph Trail and the Singletree campground, about 5.5 miles from the trail.
