The Middle Fork Ogden River is an easy out-and-back hike of about 1.7 miles in Utah's Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, within the Ogden Ranger District and the Middle Fork State Wildlife Area. The trail rises about 140 feet from a low point of 5,948 feet to a high of 6,113 feet, and it is managed by State Fish and Wildlife. The route is natural-surface and open to both horses and bikes. It is not an accessible trail, so plan for that if you need a trail that works with mobility aids. The most comfortable stretch for a visit runs from late spring through early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Huntsville Monastery show May highs around 71°F and September highs near 79°F, while July and August average about 90°F. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet below the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. The trail is open from about May 15 to November 1. Browns Hole Trail and Brown's Hole Trail both lie within about a mile, and the Middle Fork East Fork is about 1.3 miles away. For an overnight stay, South Fork campground is about 4.3 miles off.
