Avon Road is an easy out-and-back hike in the Ogden Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in northern Utah. The route is about 2.6 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 553 feet, starting at roughly 5,300 feet and reaching about 5,870 feet at the high point. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Eden-Liberty weather station show July highs around 87°F with lows near 52°F, and the station sits about 700 feet below the trail's high point, so temperatures on the road run cooler. Several other routes lie close by. North 3300 East is about a mile away and North Fork Road about 1.4 miles. For climbing, North Ogden is about 7.5 miles off. Box Elder Campground, roughly 9 miles away, is the nearest place to camp.
