Avon - Liberty Road is a moderate out-and-back hike in Utah's Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, on the Ogden Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land. The route runs about 8.9 miles from start to finish, with a total elevation gain of 620 feet, which makes it a steady climb over the course of the day rather than a steep ascent in one stretch. The low point is at about 5,874 feet, and the high point reaches about 6,508 feet. The most comfortable time to go is typically late spring or early fall. A nearby weather station at Eden-Liberty records typical average highs of about 66°F in May and 76°F in September, with July the warmest month at an average of 87°F. That station sits roughly 1,300 feet below the trail's high point, so temperatures on the higher ground run cooler. Several other routes lie close by. Avon Road is about 3.8 miles away and North 3300 East about 4.8 miles. For an overnight stay, Box Elder Campground is about 7.7 miles off.
