Lower Meadows Campground sits on the banks of the South Fork Ogden River at 5,300 feet, about 9 miles from Huntsville, Utah. It lies within the Ogden Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The site is one of the most spacious in the area, with individual campsites set far apart, and the grass is usually tall and thick. Summer is the warmest stretch. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 90°F with lows near 49°F, while September cools to highs around 79°F. Winter is cold and snowy, with January highs near 34°F and about seven snow days that month. Vault toilets are the only amenity on site, and a fee is charged. Several other places are close by. Perception Park Nature is a hike just 0.1 mile away, and Upper Meadows and Willows Campground are within a mile. The South Fork Ogden River, a canoeing route, is about 0.8 mile off.
