Flat Canyon Campground sits at 8,800 feet on the Wasatch Plateau in the Price Ranger District of Manti-La Sal National Forest, about 1.6 miles from the Beaver Dams Summer Homes Area. The Forest Service manages the land, and the site is set on a hillside above the highway, with Electric Lake about a mile away. The campground has one group site for up to 50 people and several single-family campsites. Picnic tables and fire rings are provided, along with vault toilets. Hundreds of hazardous trees have been removed from the site, which has left the canopy open and shade minimal, though a few large spruce trees remain. Summer wildflowers and grasses are abundant in the area. July is the most comfortable month, with typical highs around 74°F and lows near 48°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station at a similar elevation. June and August run close behind. A trail leads from the campground to Boulger Reservoir, just below the site. Gooseberry Creek Campground is about 3.5 miles away, and Lake Canyon Rec Area is about 4.5 miles away. James Canyon is about 2.8 miles off.
