Butterfly Lake is an unpaved campground with no hook-ups in the Heber-Kamas Ranger District of Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah, managed by the Forest Service. The nearest phone is 14 miles away, and the site has picnic tables and vault toilets. The campground is a simple base for exploring the area, where lake fishing and hiking are the local favorites. The Uinta Highline Trail and the Highline Spur mountain biking route both start within about a quarter mile. Climbers can head to Green Meadow Crags, about 0.6 miles off, or Chief Wall, about 0.9 miles away. For more time outdoors, Moosehorn campground sits about 2.3 miles away and Fehr Lake offers fishing about 2.4 miles out.
