Pecos River DWS (Deep Water Solo) is a climbing area in Amistad National Recreation Area in Texas, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots along the Pecos River, and the name points to its deep water soloing, a style of climbing where the climber is in the water below the rock. The area has four routes, three of which are sport climbs and one is a boulder. The sport routes run from 5.9 to 5.10b/c, with Captain Dick and Who's your daddy Long Leg?! both at 5.9. Dick's Blood is the hardest at 5.10b/c. The boulder route is rated V0. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Langtry show March highs around 77°F and October highs around 84°F, while summer highs climb into the 90s. Other climbing areas close by include Lawless Wall, Pecos River Boat Ramp and Whiskey Wall, all within about 2 miles. The Solarium is roughly 7 miles away.
