Western Gold Boulder is a climbing area in Tennessee's Laurel Snow Pocket Designated State Natural Area, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among several other climbing spots in the same natural area, so it works well as one stop in a day of exploring the surrounding boulders. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 71°F with lows near 47°F, and April is similar at about 71°F by day and 46°F at night. That station sits roughly 650 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures up high run cooler. Trail Split Area and Jenga Area are both about 0.2 miles away, and Laurel Falls is about 0.3 miles off. For a walk, CT_Laurel Falls Trail is about 1.2 miles away.
