Center Hill Lake is a bouldering area in Tennessee's Center Hill Recreation Area, managed by the Army Corps of Engineers. The climbing here is all bouldering, with eight routes spread across the boulder field. The routes range from V1 to V4+, with the median grade at V3. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 72°F with lows near 50°F, and April highs around 71°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the lake, so temperatures on the boulders run a little cooler. Several trails lie within a couple of miles, including the Merritt Ridge Trail at 1.5 miles and the Jack Clayborn Millennium Trail Loop at 1.9 miles. For an overnight stay, Floating Mill Park is about 2.2 miles away, and Long Branch is about 3.3 miles away.
