Turtle Ridge Trail is a short, easy loop in Jacobs Nature Park At Sinking Creek, a city-managed park in Tennessee. The trail is about 0.6 miles long, with a low point of 1,606 feet and a high of 1,754 feet. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.35 miles, where the grade reaches 17 percent. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Elizabethton show October highs around 70°F with lows near 44°F, and May highs around 77°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the ridge run a little cooler. The Minga Path starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Mountain Express is about 1.2 miles off. Climbers can head to Rail cut #3 - Tweetsie Trail, roughly 2.1 miles away, and paddlers will find Buffalo Creek about 3.2 miles from the trail.
