Boy Scout Trail is an easy 1.2-mile loop on the North Chickamauga Greenway in Tennessee, about 0.7 miles from Northshore Estates. It is managed by city land, and the route gains 279 feet from a start elevation of about 766 feet to a high point of 1,004 feet. The climb is short and gentle overall, but the trail reaches a steep grade of 14% within the first 0.06 miles. The most comfortable time to go is spring or fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Chattanooga show October highs around 74°F with lows near 51°F, and April runs similar. That station sits about 330 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the higher part of the loop run a little cooler. The trip takes about half an hour. The Lower Loop starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Perimeter Loop Trail and the Ropes Course are both within about half a mile. For climbing, Rustoleum Boulder is roughly 7.5 miles off.
