Round Mountain Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Unaka Ranger District of Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee. It sits within the national forest's boundaries, and the Forest Service manages the land. The campground charges a fee, so plan for that when you book a site. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Cataloochee, North Carolina, run to highs around 74°F in May and 75°F in September, with July and August highs near 80°F. That station sits about 450 feet lower than the campground, so temperatures here run a little cooler.
