The Escoheag Boulder is a bouldering area in Rhode Island, about 1.4 miles from the town of Escoheag. It sits among a cluster of climbing and hiking spots, with the Escoheag climbing area just 0.2 miles away and RoadSide Wall about 1.2 miles off. The bouldering here is all on the same rock, with eight routes spread across a range of grades from V1 to V8+. The easiest is Backside Problem at V1, and the hardest is Nipple Arete at V8+. Quartz Face runs V3-4, and Crystallography is V8. The routes are all boulders, so there is no rope climbing to plan for. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Coventry run to highs around 71°F in May and 74°F in September, while July highs average about 85°F. Nearby, the Tanner Cutoff and Deep Pond trail hikes are both within about a mile. Breakheart Pond, a lake fishing spot, is roughly 2.9 miles away.
