Fairmount Park

Fairmount Park is a park in Pennsylvania, about a mile from the neighborhood of Wynnefield Heights. The park forms its own land unit, and its grounds sit close to a cluster of mountain biking trails and bouldering spots. Typical averages from the Phila Franklin Inst weather station, 2.6 miles away, show a wide seasonal swing. January is the coldest month, with highs around 42°F and lows near 28°F. That month also averages about three snow days, and light snow lingers into February, March and December. Spring warms quickly: April highs reach the mid-60s, and May highs reach the mid-70s. July is the hottest month, with highs near 89°F and lows around 71°F, and August is nearly as warm. Autumn brings some of the most moderate conditions, with September highs around 80°F and October highs near 68°F. Rain is spread fairly evenly through the year, with roughly 9 to 12 wet days each month. April and May are the wettest months. Several mountain biking trails lie within half a mile, including Trolley Trail, Cabbage Patch, Brass Monkey and Chumpie. Climbers can head to Kelly Drive Boulder, about a mile away.
