John Brown is a short, out-and-back mountain biking climb in Fairmount Park in Pennsylvania, about half a mile away from the Trolley Trail. The route gains about 55 feet over a mile, with the low point at 125 feet and the high at 188 feet. It's a moderate ride, and its proximity to other trails makes it an easy addition to a longer day. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 76°F and September highs near 80°F, while July peaks around 89°F and January highs sit near 42°F. That station sits a few feet lower than the route, so temperatures on the climb run a little cooler. The Trolley Trail and Ca$h Money are both about 0.1 mile away, and Quarry Loop is about 0.2 mile off. Climbers can find the Martin Luther King Drive Twin Bridges about 0.4 mile away.
