Beam Rocks is a bouldering area in Forbes State Forest in central Pennsylvania, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. It sits among a cluster of hiking trails, making it easy to pair a day on the rocks with a walk. The climbing here is almost all bouldering, with 39 boulder problems and just two trad routes among the 41 routes listed. Grades run from V0- up to V6 on the V scale and from 5.5 to 5.9 on the YDS scale. Some of the named problems include Staircase to Nowhere at V0- and Supernumerary at V6. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July highs reach about 75°F with lows near 58°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station at Laurel Summit. Winters are cold, with January highs around 31°F. Several trails start close by. Beam Rocks Trail is about 0.4 miles away and Beam Run Trail about 0.5 miles. The Adam Fall's Trail climbing area is about 4.4 miles off, and Pike Run is about 9.3 miles away.
