Upper Quinn is an easy, out-and-back hike in Oregon's Waldo Lake Wilderness, within the Middle Fork Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest. The trail is about a mile long, with a total elevation gain of roughly 166 feet from the low point at 4,729 feet to the high point at 4,812 feet. The route is steady rather than steep, with the steepest stretch at about 0.45 miles in from the start, where the grade reaches about 7%. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at a similar elevation show July and August highs around 73 to 74°F with only a few wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and about 10 snow days a month. The hike takes about half a day. Blair Lake and Six Lakes are both within half a mile, and Skookum Creek Campground and the Lost Art climbing area sit about 5 miles away.
