Tumalo Ridge is an easy out-and-back hike of about 1.6 miles on the Forest Service's natural-surfaced trail in Oregon's Deschutes National Forest, within the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District. It rises from about 4,750 feet to a high point near 4,957 feet, and the climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.65 miles, reaching an 8% grade. The trailhead is at Skyliner Trailhead, and the route is open year-round. The hike is short enough to fit into a half day. Bikes are allowed, but horses are not. The closest neighbors are the East Loop and Skyliner Trail #28, both about 0.1 mile away, and the Tumalo Falls Road Nordic trail for cross-country skiing, about 0.3 mile off. For climbing, Cougar Buttress sits roughly 1.7 miles away.
