Summit Loop is a 1.8-mile out-and-back hike in the Central Coast Ranger District-ODNRA of Oregon's Siuslaw National Forest. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and is rated moderate, with a total elevation gain of about 839 feet over the round trip. The route starts at an elevation of about 3,824 feet and reaches a high point of about 4,095 feet. The steepest stretch comes at roughly 0.35 miles in, where the grade reaches about 16 percent. The trail has a natural surface and is not accessible. The loop works well as a short outing. The Forest Service lists the open season as roughly April 15 through November 15, and the trip takes about an hour. Bikes are allowed on the trail, and East Ridge Trail, a mountain biking route, lies just 0.1 mile away. Meadow Edge is a hiking option about 0.2 mile off. Marys Peak Campground, about 0.6 mile away, and the Marys Peak climbing area, about a mile away, round out the options nearby.
