Stark Naked is a short out-and-back hike in Oregon, about half a mile from the community of Wren. The route is rated easy and gains about 200 feet in elevation, with the high point of 1,681 feet reached roughly halfway along the 1.1-mile trip. The climb is gentle overall, with the steepest stretch at about 0.46 miles into the hike, where the grade reaches 25 percent. The total elevation gain for the round trip is about 509 feet, so the hike works well as a quick stop between other outings. Late summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Corvallis show July and August highs in the low 80s and only four wet days a month. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. Several other short hikes start close by. Logout is just 0.1 mile away, and No Secret Trail, As You Wish and Word to Your Mother are all about half a mile off. Paddlers can head to the East Channel Willamette River, about 7 miles away.
