Stampede Trail is an easy, out-and-back hike on Bureau of Land Management land in Oregon's Prineville Deschutes Field Office. The trail is about 2.9 miles long and gains about 120 feet one way. It runs on natural surface and is rated easy, and the route is roughly 5.8 miles round trip, with the high point at about 3,258 feet and the low at about 3,119 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 2.7 miles in, with an 8% grade. The most comfortable months are typically late spring through early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 65°F in May to about 82°F in July and August, with September cooling to around 74°F. The trail is horse-friendly, and bikes are not allowed. Settlement Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and Headgate Trail and Branding Iron Trail are each about 0.2 mile off. Cline Falls Bouldering lies about 4.8 miles away.
