Porky Lake is an easy out-and-back hike of about 2.2 miles in Oregon's Three Sisters Wilderness, within the McKenzie River Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and sits at roughly 4,900 feet, with the high point at about 5,140 feet. The route is short and gentle, with a total climb of about 407 feet and a steepest stretch of about 20% at around 0.7 miles. Horses are allowed, and the trail surface is natural. Bikes are not. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Wickiup Dam show July highs around 83°F with only about three wet days, while winter highs sit near 40°F. That station sits roughly 780 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the hike run cooler. The trip takes about an hour, and the trail stays open year-round. Lake Side is about 0.4 miles away, and Mink Lake and Goose Lake are each within about a mile. For an overnight stay, Little Fawn Campground is about 6 miles off.
