Oak Trail is a short, easy out-and-back hike on city-managed land within Dorris Ranch in Oregon, about half a mile from the trailhead. The route is just over a mile long, with a total elevation gain of about 108 feet, so it's a gentle walk that can be done in about half an hour. The trail rises from a low point of about 464 feet to a high of about 497 feet, with the steepest stretch at the start, around 4% grade. That makes it a simple, low-effort outing rather than a climb. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 84°F with only about three wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the upper 40s and rain on most days. Several other outings sit within a few miles. The SUB woodchip path is about 1.2 miles away and the Ribbon Trail about 1.6 miles. Skinner Butte (aka The Columns) is a climbing area about 4.4 miles off, and the Willamette River offers fishing about 3.7 miles away.
