Green Lakes Trail #17 is an easy out-and-back hike of about 3.8 miles in Oregon's Three Sisters Wilderness, within the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail starts at an elevation of about 5,450 feet, climbing to a high point of about 5,970 feet before returning. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 83°F with only about three wet days, while temperatures at the trail's higher end run cooler than those figures. Winter is cold, with January highs near 40°F and lows around 21°F. Soda Creek lies just 0.1 mile away, and Devils Lake is about 1.1 miles off. For overnight stays, Elk Lake Campground and Mallard Marsh Campground are each a little over 5 miles away.
