Cliff Creek Trail is a hard out-and-back hike in Oregon's Eagle Cap Wilderness, part of the Eagle Cap Ranger District of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and runs about 13.8 miles round trip, with a total elevation gain and loss of about 4,436 feet. The route starts at roughly 7,564 feet and climbs to a high point of 8,048 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 1.5 miles in, where the grade reaches 27%. The trip takes about seven hours. Plan for a long day on a trail that gains nearly 2,000 feet one way, with the most dramatic climb coming early on. Kettle Creek Trail lies just 0.1 mile away, and Pine Lakes Trail is about 1.5 miles off. For paddling, the South Fork Imnaha River is about 4.9 miles away, and Fish Lake Campground is about 8.7 miles away.
