Blair Lake Trail is a 15-mile point-to-point route in Oregon's Waldo Lake Wilderness, part of the Middle Fork Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail crosses wilderness boundaries, so plan on a full day or more. The climb is steady, with a total gain of 3,185 feet from a starting elevation of about 4,959 feet to a high point of 5,593 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 11.9 miles, where the grade reaches 28 percent. The route also has a total loss of 3,140 feet, so it works as a two-way trip. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Odell Lake show July and August highs around 73 to 74°F with only three wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days. Winchester Lake and Winchester Ridge both sit within half a mile of the trail. Skookum Creek Campground is about 3.7 miles away, and the Lost Art Area climbing area is about 4 miles off.
